What is 99 Nights in the Forest?
99 Nights in the Forest is a multiplayer Roblox survival-horror game by Grandma's Favourite Games (a verified creator). The official description is just eight words: "Build a camp with friends. Something is watching you." That watching thing is The Deer — a tall, unkillable stalker that hunts you every night outside the campfire's light.
The goal is an endurance run, not a boss fight: gather wood and food by day, level the campfire to stay alive at night, rescue four Missing Children from guarded caves, and survive 99 nights. At the last API check on 2026-08-17, about 330,074 players were in-game, with over 29.0B total visits.
The Core Survival Challenges
Four systems decide whether your run makes it to night 99.
The Campfire (your only real base)
There are no buildable walls — the fire's light is your safe zone. Level it to 3–4 by the first night and keep logs stocked, or the Deer finds you. Higher fire levels unlock traders, better gear and the rescue arc.
The Deer & the Night
Five unkillable monsters (Deer, Ram, Owl, Bat, Cat) patrol the dark. You can't fight them — only the fire's light and a flashlight stun keep you alive. Night one is free; night two is when the pressure starts.
Classes & Diamonds
There are 40 classes to buy with Diamonds — from a 10-Diamond Camper to the 1,000-Diamond Engineer. Your class defines your loadout and perks, so pick for your play style: solo, team, or beginner.
Rescuing the Missing Children
The win condition: find each Missing Child via the bulletin board, craft a map, and clear their guarded cave. Each rescue gives a day booster — rescue Dino Kid first, save Koala Kid for last.
The True Story Behind the Game
The rescue premise isn't pure fiction.
The game's core premise — four children lost in a vast jungle, waiting to be rescued — echoes a real survival story: the 2023 plane crash in the Colombian Amazon, where four Huitoto children survived about 40 days alone before rescue. The monsters are fiction, but the rescue arc is inspired by that event. Read the full breakdown on the true story page — including how the game actually ends and whether it's scary enough for younger players.

What is 99 Nights in the Forest about?
A Roblox survival-horror game where you build a camp, gather wood and food by day, and survive a nightly stalker (The Deer). The goal is to rescue four Missing Children and reach 99 nights. The official description: "Build a camp with friends. Something is watching you."
How do I play 99 Nights in the Forest for the first time?
Start your own run from the lobby (solo or up to 5 players), then chop wood, upgrade the campfire, kill bunnies for food and drop meat on the fire to cook it. The Deer doesn't attack on night one — use that time to level the fire. Full steps on the how-to-play page.
Is the game based on a true story?
The premise — rescuing four lost children from a jungle — is inspired by the 2023 crash of four Huitoto children in the Colombian Amazon who survived. The monsters themselves are fictional. More in the story section.
Can you get free gems in 99 Nights in the Forest?
No — we don't host or recommend cheat scripts; they risk a ban and often carry malware. Instead use the talents, class picks and survival tips on this site, plus active codes, to earn gems legitimately.
